German wins sixth Masters title to find his form ahead of Grand Slam.

Zverev played several matches in Rome to reach another milestone in his career

Alexander Zverev has won the Italian Open to successfully warm up for the French Open. The German beat first-time Masters 1000 finalist Diego Schwartzman of Argentina 6-3 6-4 in the final, claiming his sixth Masters title and boosting his confidence ahead of the second Grand Slam of the year.

Zverev took 78 minutes to beat Schwartzman, who saved a championship point at 5-2 down in the second set, but was unable to prevent the 25-year-old German from claiming the title.

It is the first title for Zverev since he won the ATP Finals in Turin in November and his first Masters title since Cincinnati last year.
